What a boiler service includes
A KB Heating & Plumbing boiler service takes 45 to 60 minutes for most boilers and covers:
- Visual check of the boiler, flue and pipework.
- Cleaning and inspecting the burner, heat exchanger and condensate trap.
- Checking the gas pressure and flow rate.
- Flue gas analysis, to confirm the boiler is burning cleanly.
- Testing the safety devices and controls.
- Checking system pressure and the expansion vessel.
- Checking seals and joints for leaks or corrosion.
When the service is done, you get a written service report, and the service is recorded in the boiler’s logbook where one exists.
What happens if a problem is found
If the service finds a fault, the engineer explains it, shows you where possible, and quotes for the repair. Nothing extra is done without your agreement. Common findings include worn seals, a low expansion vessel charge and sludge in the system, which a power flush can clear.
